How do we know Christ is better than angels?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is better than angels because He is God, has an exalted name, and is the object of their worship.

The superiority of Christ over angels is foundational to Christian theology. Hebrews 1:4 declares Christ as having 'inherited a more excellent name than they' (the angels), signifying His divine nature and authority. Unlike angels, Christ is not merely a messenger; He is the Son of God. In verse 8, God the Father declares to the Son, 'Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever,' highlighting the deity of Christ and affirming that angels are to worship Him (Hebrews 1:6). Furthermore, Christ's role as Savior and His achievements on behalf of His elect further establish His superiority over the created order of angels.
