How do we know Christ is our eternal rest?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is our eternal rest as He fulfilled the law and accomplished salvation, allowing us to cease from our own works.

The rest that Christ offers believers is rooted in His completed work on the cross. Just as God rested on the seventh day after creation, signifying the completion of His creative work, so Christ, after bearing the sins of His people and proclaiming 'It is finished,' ushered in a new creation and eternal rest. Believers are called to cease striving for their own righteousness and to rest in Him alone for salvation and sanctification. This eternal Sabbath rest is not confined to one day a week but is a perpetual state of being in Christ, where we live in the freedom of grace.
