How do we know Christ is our Lamb?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is identified as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, fulfilling the requirements of the Passover lamb.

In John 1:29, John the Baptist declares Jesus as the 'Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.' This identity of Christ as the Lamb fulfills the Old Testament sacrificial system epitomized in the Passover. Just as the Israelites needed a lamb without blemish for their salvation from death in Egypt, so too does humanity require a perfect Lamb, and this is only found in Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate substitute who bore the sins of His people, ensuring that all who are under His blood will be saved. This is the assurance of faith we have in Him; He is our Passover.
