How do we know Christ is our perfect Lamb?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is confirmed as our perfect Lamb by His sinlessness and the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies.

The New Testament emphasizes that Christ fulfills the role of the Passover Lamb through His sinless life and sacrificial death. In Exodus 12:5, God commands that the lamb must be without blemish, reflecting the necessity for a perfect sacrifice to atone for sin. This is echoed in 2 Corinthians 5:21 where it states, 'For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin.' Christ’s life was marked by obedience and purity, evidenced throughout the gospel accounts of His temptation (Hebrews 4:15) and His sacrificial willingness to bear the sins of humanity (Isaiah 53:4-6). Therefore, His unique qualifications and the fulfillment of the prophetic picture inspire confidence in His status as our Lamb.
