How do we know Christ is our true rest?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is our true rest as He fulfilled the law and offers salvation to sinners.

Christ is clearly depicted as our true rest throughout the New Testament. The Old Testament law and its ordinances served as a shadow of the reality that was to come in Christ. Colossians 2:16-17 teaches that these ordinances, including the Sabbath, are fulfilled in the body of Christ. By placing our faith in Him, believers receive the righteousness He earned, which frees us from the burdens of the law. Because He completed the work of salvation, we find rest in Him, ceasing from our attempts to earn favor with God through our works.
