How do we know Christ is preferred above the law?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is preferred above the law because He brings grace and truth that fulfills the law's demands (John 1:17).

In John 1:17, we learn that grace and truth came through Jesus Christ, indicating that He is the ultimate answer to what the law points to. The law, while holy and just, could only expose sin and highlight our inability to achieve righteousness. In contrast, Christ fully embodies grace and truth, satisfying the demands of the law while simultaneously offering forgiveness and salvation. He does what the law could not do—reconcile us to God by paying the penalty for our sins, thus demonstrating that He is far superior to the law.
