How do we know Christ is preparing a place for us?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus assures us of a prepared place in heaven in John 14:2, affirming His promise to return for His people.

In John 14:2, Jesus states, 'In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.' This declaration signifies a profound truth: Christ has gone ahead to secure a heavenly home for His people. The assurance is twofold; it encompasses not only the promise of a place in heaven but also the certainty that He will return to receive us to Himself. This hope is anchored in the redemptive work of Christ, by which He procures our place in heaven. His preparation of a place for us is as sure as His own resurrection and ascension, demonstrating His faithfulness to His promises.
