How do we know Christ is revealed in the Old Testament?

Answered in 3 sources

Christ is foreshadowed in the Old Testament through types and shadows, with David serving as a clear typological figure pointing to Jesus.

The Old Testament consistently points to Christ through various types and images, and David is one of the most prominent figures in this typology. His victory over Goliath symbolizes the ultimate victory of Christ over sin and death. Just as David, a shepherd, confronted and defeated the Philistine champion, Christ, our Shepherd, confronts and overcomes the greatest enemy of humanity. This typological interpretation encourages believers to recognize how the entirety of Scripture tells the story of redemption through Jesus.
