How do we know Christ is the gospel?

Answered in 1 source

The gospel centers entirely on Christ and His work, affirming that salvation comes solely through Him.

The Apostle Paul explicitly states in Romans 1 that he was separated unto the gospel of Christ, which highlights that the gospel cannot be divorced from Jesus. Paul reiterates this when he conveys that the gospel is not about any works we can perform but is entirely concerning Jesus Christ. It is vital to understand that faith itself is not the gospel, but rather, Christ embodies the heart of the gospel. When someone discusses salvation, they must recognize that it is impossible to be saved apart from hearing and receiving the gospel, as it is intrinsically tied to the person and work of Christ.
