How do we know Christ is the great light?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is identified as the great light in John 1, where it says He is the light that shines in darkness.

In John 1:4-5, we read that in Him was life, and that life was the light of men. This light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. The testimony of Scripture consistently presents Christ as the light of the world, illuminating our path and revealing God's truth. Without Christ, we remain in darkness, unaware of our need for salvation. His incarnation as God made flesh signifies the ultimate act of love, bringing light to those in spiritual blindness and offering hope and redemption to humanity.
