How do we know Christ is the only refuge for sinners?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is the only refuge as He bore our shame and punishment, satisfying God's justice on our behalf.

The certainty that Christ is the only refuge for sinners is grounded in the gospel. In Isaiah's message, he emphasizes that every other source of refuge will ultimately fail, just as the fortified city of Ashdod fell to the Assyrians. Christ, as the God-man, stripped Himself of His glory to endure the shame and punishment that sinners deserve. Through His obedience and sacrificial death, He became our only refuge and covering before God. Believing in Christ means trusting in the sufficiency of His sacrifice to bear our shame and to deliver us from God’s wrath. Therefore, our faith must rest solely in Him as our righteousness and refuge.
