How do we know Christ is the rightful king?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is recognized as the rightful king by His divine appointment from the Father, fulfilling the covenant promise.

The recognition of Christ as the rightful King is firmly established in scripture, particularly as seen when David made Solomon king. In 1 Kings 1:34-35 and Matthew 22:41-45, the lineage and the prophecy of David point to Christ's ascension to the throne. God’s promise is underscored in 1 Chronicles 22:10, where it declares that Solomon shall build a house for God's name, ultimately foreshadowing Christ who reigns eternally. The entire creation was set up for Christ to be glorified. Thus, every believer can rejoice in the truth that Christ is king and His reign is assured.
