How do we know Christ is the true burnt offering?

The burnt offerings in the Old Testament serve as a shadow of the ultimate sacrifice of Christ. The continuous offering of lambs represents not only the need for atonement but also foretells the day when Jesus would be the Lamb offered for the sins of many. John the Baptist recognized Jesus as the Lamb of God, emphasizing that He is the substance to which the burnt offerings pointed.
