How do we know Christ is the ultimate authority?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is recognized as the ultimate authority because He fulfilled all prophecies and laws, establishing His sovereign rule (Colossians 1:16-17).

Christ's authority is affirmed in scripture where He is declared as the King of kings and Lord of lords (1 Timothy 6:14-15). He fulfills the law perfectly, including the law found in Exodus 22:28, by never reviling those placed in authority by God, and instead honoring them. Furthermore, in revelations concerning His kingship, such as Revelation 19:11-16, His sovereign rule is visually depicted, emphasizing His power over all creation and authority over rulers and nations. This is the ultimate truth we hold—that Christ reigns over all in steadfast justice and grace.
