How do we know Christ is truly our shelter?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is our shelter because He has borne the full wrath of God for our sins, providing safety for all who believe.

The assurance that Christ is our true shelter stems from His sacrificial death, where He bore the punishment for our sins, thus protecting us from God's righteous judgment. As noted in the sermon, those who have fled to Christ do so because they recognize their need for refuge from God's wrath. By embracing Christ, who is described as the rock and shelter, we find peace and security that nothing else can provide. His righteousness covers our sins, assuring us that we will never face condemnation.
