How do we know Christ is who He claims to be?

Answered in 1 source

We know Christ is who He claims to be through His works and the testimonies of witnesses such as John the Baptist and God the Father.

The certainty of Christ's identity is established through His miraculous works and the affirmations made by the Father and John the Baptist. In John 5:36, Jesus states, 'I have greater witness than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me.' This means that the very actions of Christ – His miracles, healings, and authoritative teachings – serve as evidence of His divine nature and mission. Additionally, the relationship between the Father and the Son ensures that the testimony is true, as the Father speaks in affirmation of the Son. These sources provide the foundation for the believer's faith in Christ.
