How do we know Christ is worthy to open the book in Revelation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is worthy to open the book because He has prevailed over sin and death through His sacrificial death and resurrection.

In Revelation 5, John is reassured that the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, representing Christ, is worthy to open the seals of the book. This worthiness comes from Christ's victory over sin, where He shed His blood to redeem His people (Revelation 5:5). His authority to reveal God's eternal purpose and plan is affirmed as He satisfies divine justice, making Him the only one capable of providing eternal life to His elect (Hebrews 7:25). Thus, His sacrificial love assures believers of the fulfillment of God's promises in history.
