How do we know Christ restores our fellowship with God?

Answered in 1 source

Christ restores our fellowship with God through His atoning sacrifice, which brings everlasting righteousness and reconciles us to the Father.

Christ's role in restoring our fellowship with God is twofold. First, through His sin-atoning sacrifice, He satisfies God's justice by taking upon Himself the penalty for our sins. Romans 8:1 assures us that 'there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.' Secondly, the application of His blood to our hearts by the Holy Spirit enables us to be reconciled to God and united in fellowship. Through Christ, we are no longer enemies of God but are welcomed as beloved children into His presence. This restoration of fellowship is the core of the gospel and reassures believers that they can walk in communion with God.
