How do we know Christ's atonement is sufficient for all?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's atonement is sufficient for all, as His sacrifice on the cross possesses infinite merit to atone for the sins of all mankind.

The sufficiency of Christ's atonement is rooted in the understanding that His sacrifice was not limited to a select group but was sufficient for the sins of all humanity. John the Baptist's testimony highlights this when he refers to Jesus as the one who 'takes away the sin of the world.' This means that the atonement is sufficient for everyone, regardless of background or ethnicity. Although effective only for those who believe, the payment made on the cross is adequate to cover the debts of all. This gives us the assurance that no one is beyond the reach of God’s merciful provision through Christ.
