How do we know Christ's authority is crucial for the church?

The authority of Christ is critical for the church as it establishes the divine order within the body of believers. Ephesians 1:22 states that God has put 'all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things, to the church.' This authority is not only about governance; it also encompasses direction and life. The church, as the body of Christ, requires Christ's headship to maintain its function and health. Therefore, the assurance that Christ is our head gives believers confidence and stability in their faith and fellowship.
