How do we know Christ's death satisfied God's justice?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ's death satisfied God's justice as He bore the full penalty for sin, fulfilling the requirements of the law.

The satisfaction of God's justice through Christ's death is a foundational doctrine of the Reformed faith. In Isaiah 53, we see the prophecy of the suffering servant who bears our iniquities and who was crushed for our transgressions. This is echoed in Hebrews 9:27-28, which states that Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, affirming that His sacrifice was sufficient to satisfy divine justice. God’s wrath against sin was poured out upon Christ, substituting Him for His people. Upon declaring 'It is finished' (John 19:30), Christ confirmed that the demands of the law were fully met, paving the way for reconciliation between God and humanity.
