How do we know Christ's righteousness is our own?

Answered in 3 sources

Believers are counted righteous before God because of their faith in Christ, who fulfilled the law on their behalf (Romans 3:22).

The righteousness of Christ is imputed to believers through faith, as Paul writes in Romans 3:22, that the righteousness of God is available to all who believe. This imputation of righteousness is crucial in Reformed theology, as it underlines the doctrine of justification by faith alone. When we place our faith in Christ, we not only receive forgiveness for our sins but are also clothed in Christ's perfect righteousness. This means that when God looks at us, He sees the righteousness of His Son rather than our sinful nature, making us heirs of the kingdom.
