How do we know Christ's righteousness is the only true righteousness?

Answered in 1 source

The righteousness of Christ is the only true righteousness because it is perfect and fulfills God's law, unlike our own efforts, which are described as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).

In scripture, the distinction between human righteousness and Christ's righteousness is made abundantly clear. Romans 3:10 states, 'There is none righteous, no, not one,' emphasizing that all human attempts at righteousness fall short. The righteousness that is accepted before God is solely the righteousness of Christ, who perfectly fulfilled the law during His earthly ministry (Romans 10:4). When believers trust in Him, they receive this imputed righteousness, which is the basis for their acceptance by God. Isaiah 61:10 illustrates this beautifully, stating, 'He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness.' Hence, Christ's righteousness is without flaw and the only means by which believers can stand justified before a holy God.
