How do we know Christ's righteousness secures our place at the table?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are assured of their place at God's table through the everlasting covenant established by Christ’s redemptive work.

The assurance of believers' rights to sit at the table of God stems from the everlasting covenant made by the Triune God before time. Hebrews 13:20 refers to Jesus as the shepherd who was brought back from the dead through the blood of this covenant, highlighting that the securing of our rights is tightly woven into Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection. Just like Mephibosheth was invited based on David's prior promise to Jonathan, believers are welcomed into fellowship with God because of Jesus' fulfillment of the covenant promises. It is through Christ's righteousness that we have access to the blessings of salvation and eternal life.
