How do we know Christ's role as our High Priest is true?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's role as our High Priest is confirmed through His humanity and sacrificial death, which makes Him able to represent us before God.

The truth of Christ's role as our High Priest is substantiated by multiple theological realities. Firstly, Hebrews 2:17 states that it was fitting for Him to be made like His brethren in order to become a merciful and faithful High Priest. This necessity arises from the fact that a high priest must be taken from among men to represent them before God. Secondly, as a man, He has the capacity to make offerings for sin, as noted in Hebrews 9:22, where it affirms that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. Furthermore, Christ’s fulfillment of the law and His perfect righteousness allow Him to plead on our behalf (Romans 8:34). Thus, His human experience meets the requirements for our redemption and assures us of His priestly authority.
