How do we know Christ's role is to redeem us?

Answered in 1 source

The role of Christ as our Redeemer is established through His being made under the law and sent at the right time to save His people from their sins.

According to Galatians 4:4-5, when the fullness of time came, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, and made under the law, to redeem those who were under the law. This points to Christ’s mission as fulfilling God's redemptive plan, where He willingly took on human flesh to live a sinless life, thus establishing righteousness on behalf of His elect. His sacrifice was essential for propitiation, as He is the sinless one, enabling those whom He redeems to be justified before a holy God. The scriptures consistently affirm Christ's redemptive role, manifesting God's love and justice working harmoniously for the salvation of His elect.
