How do we know Christ's sacrifice was effective?

Answered in 4 sources

We know Christ's sacrifice was effective because Scripture assures us that it fully satisfies God's justice and secures salvation for believers.

The effectiveness of Christ's sacrifice is rooted in two primary aspects. First, Scripture states that whatever Christ intended to accomplish through His death shall indeed be accomplished, as He is an effectual Redeemer (Isaiah 42:4). This assurance comes from understanding that His sacrifice was specific; it was made for the elect, those whom He represents and for whom He intercedes (John 17:9). Second, through the merits of His death, believers are justified — made righteous before God — without having to rely on their personal obedience to the law (Romans 3:28). The confidence in the effectiveness of Christ's sacrifice lies in its ability to fulfill God's covenant promises and bring eternal life to those who believe.
