How do we know Christ's work is complete and sufficient?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's declaration, 'It is finished,' affirms the completeness and sufficiency of His redemptive work.

When Jesus proclaimed 'It is finished' on the cross, He confirmed that the work necessary for the redemption of sinners was completely accomplished. In contrast to the Old Testament sacrifices that were repeated annually, Christ's sacrifice was once for all, sufficient to atone for the sins of His people (Hebrews 10:10). This means that all that is required for forgiveness and reconciliation with God has been fully provided in Christ, ensuring that those who place their faith in Him need not add anything to His completed work.
