How do we know Christ suffered for our sins?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible provides witness to Christ suffering as a substitute for our sins, making Him the ultimate sacrifice.

Throughout the Scriptures, especially in the prophetic accounts like those in Lamentations, we see how Christ is prophesied to take on the sins of His people. Jeremiah's statements in Lamentations about suffering serve as a shadowing figure of Christ, pointing to the reality that He, too, would experience profound suffering. Christ did not suffer for His own sins—He was innocent—but He bore the sins of His people, taking on our guilt upon Himself. By doing so, He fulfilled God's justice and demonstrated His immense love. The beauty lies in the fact that through His affliction, He brings redemption to sinners, proving the fullness of God's grace in His plan.
