How do we know Christian unity is important?

Answered in 1 source

Christian unity is important as it reflects the body of Christ and helps avoid division and strife among believers.

Unity among Christians is paramount as it is a reflection of our relationship with Christ and His desire for His followers to be one just as He and the Father are one (John 17:21). The endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace is a crucial aspect of the Christian life. It prevents offenses and fosters a community where believers are committed to loving and respecting one another. A united body of Christ encourages growth and maturity in faith, allowing each member to contribute to the church's mission without the encumbrance of division or discord.
