How do we know communion with God is important?

The significance of communion with God lies in its representation of the believer's union with Christ and the remembrance of His atoning work. The breaking of bread and the drinking of the cup symbolize our participation in the grace extended to us through Christ's body and blood. As mentioned in 1 Corinthians 11:26, we show the Lord's death until He comes. This act does not confer grace, but it is a means of grace as we reflect on what Christ accomplished for us.
