How do we know divine mercy is extended to the elderly?

Answered in 1 source

Divine mercy is illustrated in the parable of the workers in the vineyard, showing that God seeks the idle regardless of their age.

Hebrews 12 reminds us that God's grace is available to all who seek Him, no matter how old they are. In Matthew 20, the landowner goes out multiple times, ultimately hiring those standing idle late in the day, signifying that God's mercy persists even at the 11th hour. This demonstrates that aged individuals, who may feel discouraged by their past, are not beyond the reach of divine grace. The sermon underscores that just because someone has lived many years without seeking God does not mean they are now excluded from His mercy. God’s kindness can reach the most hardened or elderly sinner in their final moments, providing hope and assurance that they can still turn to Him for salvation.
