How do we know eternal life is more than just existence?

Answered in 1 source

Eternal life is defined as knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ, which transcends mere existence.

Eternal life is not merely about living forever; it is fundamentally about knowing the true God and Jesus Christ, as stated in John 17:3. This knowledge goes beyond intellectual acknowledgment; it implies a deep, personal relationship with the Creator and Redeemer. True spiritual life is found in this relational knowledge and experience of God through Christ. While everyone will exist eternally, true life, as defined by Scripture, springs from our connection to Christ, who embodies the fullness of life that God intends for us, indicating that without this relationship, we merely exist as vapors.
