How do we know faith alone saves according to the Bible?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible confirms through Romans 4 that faith alone, apart from works, justifies the believer before God.

The Apostle Paul uses Abraham as the primary example of how faith leads to justification, as seen in Romans 4:3, which quotes Genesis 15:6: 'Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.' This clearly illustrates that faith, not works, was the means by which Abraham was justified. Paul argues that if righteousness could be obtained through the law, Abraham would have grounds for boasting; yet, he arrived at righteousness through faith alone. This principle is vital for understanding that all believers, regardless of their background, are justified before God by faith in Christ, as also reinforced in Galatians 2:16 and Ephesians 2:8-9.
