How do we know faith in Jesus is genuine?

Answered in 1 source

Genuine faith involves more than a mere belief; it requires a deep acknowledgment of the truth of Christ's words (John 3:36).

True faith is not simply declaring a belief in Jesus or acknowledging His existence, as even the demons believe and tremble (James 2:19). Genuine faith comes from understanding and accepting the gospel message in its fullness - recognizing Jesus as the unique Son of God sent to save His people. The assurance of faith is evidenced in a heartfelt trust in His promises and a life transformed by His grace. Those who genuinely believe in the message of Christ have peace with God and the hope of eternal life, as emphasized in John 3:36.
