How do we know faith is essential during trials?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is essential because it enables us to trust God's promises even when circumstances appear dire.

In the face of trials, such as when the Israelites stood at the edge of the Red Sea with Pharaoh's army approaching, they were commanded to move forward in faith, despite the seeming impossibility of their situation. This moment illustrates that true faith shines brightest in the darkest times. Believers are called to look beyond their immediate circumstances and trust in God's unfailing promises, just as the Israelites had to step into the divided sea believing God would lead them through. Faith allows us to see that God is at work, often behind the scenes, ensuring our safety and delivering us exactly when we need it most. Romans 8:28 teaches us that all things work together for good for those who love God, underscoring the necessity of faith in trials.
