How do we know faith is essential for worship?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that worship without faith is useless and abominable to God.

Throughout scripture, it is clear that faith is the foundation of acceptable worship. In Isaiah 66:3, God indicates that sacrifices offered without a true heart and faith are as offensive as heinous acts. The principle is reiterated in Proverbs 15:8, where the sacrifice of the wicked is called an abomination to the Lord. Therefore, any act of worship lacking a sincere heart of faith is worthless to God, demonstrating that true worship must be rooted in genuine belief and trust in Christ.
