How do we know faith is real according to the Bible?

Answered in 2 sources

Real faith is evident when it rests fully on Jesus Christ and His finished work, rather than on personal merit.

The reality of faith is demonstrated through its object, which is Jesus Christ. As stated by Paul, the true believer worships God in the Spirit and rejoices in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh. This means that genuine faith recognizes human insufficiency and embraces Christ as the sole source of righteousness and strength. Moreover, Paul’s own testimony in Philippians 3 reflects the transformative power of faith, as he counts all his previous accomplishments as loss for the sake of knowing Christ. This unwavering trust in Christ as our Savior is the hallmark of true faith.
