How do we know false prophets?

Answered in 1 source

False prophets can be recognized by their doctrine, converts, and lifestyle, which ultimately reveal their true intentions.

Jesus instructed us to recognize false prophets by their fruits, which includes understanding their doctrine, the conversions they produce, and their lives. A true prophet will preach the pure doctrine of Christ and lead others to a genuine understanding of salvation (John 7:16). By examining the lives of those who follow them and their own actions, believers can discern the truth. Paul also teaches that their deceit often involves withholding necessary truths that are vital for salvation, which can mislead the unsuspecting.
