How do we know false prophets are true?

Answered in 1 source

We recognize false prophets by their fruits, which reveal their true nature and the messages they preach.

According to Matthew 7:16, you will know false prophets by their fruits. A good tree will produce good fruit, while a corrupt tree will produce evil fruit. This metaphor highlights the importance of examining the outcomes of a prophet's ministry. If their teachings lead to spiritual growth, Christ-centeredness, and genuine repentance, they are likely true. However, if they promote self-righteousness and fail to call sin what it is, their fruit will reflect their corrupt nature. This teaching encourages believers to discern the soundness of messages against Scriptural truths.
