How do we know false teachers are among us?

Answered in 1 source

False teachers often appear as sheep but are inwardly ravenous wolves, deceiving many with a diluted message.

In Matthew 7:15, Jesus warns to 'beware of false prophets' who come in sheep's clothing. The difficulty lies in discerning them, as they masquerade as genuine messengers of Christ while their teachings lack the essential truth of the gospel. The Apostle Paul, in 2 Corinthians 11, details that these false ministers transform themselves into apostles of Christ. Genuine discernment comes from evaluating their fruit over time, which means ultimately observing the lives and hearts of their converts. A true messenger will preach Christ in all His fullness, while false prophets may mix truth with significant error.
