How do we know giving is an act of worship?

Answered in 1 source

Giving is recognized as an act of worship when it reflects sincere love and a merciful heart.

In Chapman's address, he explains that giving, much like prayer and fasting, is an intrinsic part of true worship. It is not merely a transactional act but a heartfelt response to the mercy God has extended to us. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 stresses the importance of giving cheerfully, emphasizing that God loves a cheerful giver. When believers give, it should be from a place of gratitude for what God has provided, recognizing that everything we have is a gift from Him. Moreover, giving is seen as an expression of mercy; just as God has shown us mercy, we are compelled to show mercy to others through our generosity. Thus, genuine giving that stems from love and sincere intentions becomes a form of worship.
