How do we know God calls us to be saints?

Answered in 1 source

God's calling to be saints is known through the belief of the truth as revealed in the gospel.

The assurance of being called a saint lies in one's response to God's gospel. As explained in 2 Thessalonians 2:13, those whom God has chosen are called through the gospel, resulting in belief of the truth. This calling isn't based on human merit but on God's sovereign choice to save and sanctify his elect. Therefore, a believer's acknowledgment of Christ and their continual calling upon Him for mercy indicates their status as a saint.
