How do we know God can save us?

Answered in 4 sources

God's ability to save is demonstrated through His sovereignty and power, as He overcomes insurmountable obstacles for our salvation.

The assurance of God's power to save comes from Scripture, which highlights His sovereignty over all creation and His unchanging nature. Romans 8:35-39 articulates that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ, showcasing God's determination to save His people. Even when it seems like sin creates barriers to our salvation, God uses these obstacles to magnify His grace and power, ensuring that every obstacle to our salvation is ultimately overcome by Christ's completed work on the cross. His grace is sufficient, reminding us that He goes to great lengths to ensure our redemption.
