How do we know God cares during our tragedies?

Answered in 1 source

God cares for us deeply, as shown through His prophets and His ultimate revelation in Jesus Christ.

In times of trial, the story of the Shunammite woman offers reassurance of God's care. Despite her sorrow, she displayed unwavering faith by declaring to her husband, 'It shall be well' (2 Kings 4:26). This phrase encapsulates her trust in God's plan, even amid despair. As Christians, we are encouraged to approach God with our troubles, knowing that He is compassionate and attentive to our needs. Jesus, our ultimate prophet and mediator, invites us to cast our cares upon Him, which demonstrates that God is always present in our pain and ultimately has a purpose for our suffering.
