How do we know God cares for us in times of trouble?

Answered in 2 sources

God promises to care for His people, as stated in 1 Peter 5:7: 'Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.'

In the midst of trials and fears, believers are reassured of God's constant care through Scripture. First Peter 5:7 encourages us to cast all our anxieties on Him, affirming that He truly cares for us. This divine care is evident throughout the Bible, where God is depicted not only as a sovereign ruler but also as a loving Father who provides for and protects His children. In our daily lives, remembering God's providence and His intimate knowledge of our struggles helps alleviate our fears and encourages reliance on His promises.
