How do we know God elects some for salvation?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that God's election is a sovereign act of grace, demonstrated by His choice of certain individuals for salvation.

God's sovereign choice in election is clearly articulated in both the Old and New Testaments. Romans 11 mentions that not all of Israel are true Israel; those whom God foreknew were chosen by grace. This election is not based on human effort or merit but solely on God's will, as seen in Ephesians 1:4-5, where Paul notes that God chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. The pervasive theme of grace throughout scripture underscores that salvation is a divine initiative, ensuring that those elected will surely come to faith and remain steadfast in Christ. This doctrine emphasizes God's mercy and sovereignty, affirming that salvation is entirely from Him.
