How do we know God has a purpose for our trials?

Answered in 2 sources

We know God has a purpose for our trials because His ways are higher than ours and He uses them to refine our character (Isaiah 55:8-9).

God’s purpose in our trials is rooted in His perfect wisdom and love for us. As stated in Isaiah 55:8-9, God's ways and thoughts are far beyond our understanding, and though we may not immediately see the purpose behind our challenges, we can trust that He is using them to refine us. Trials can draw us closer to Him, wean us from worldly attachments, and mold us into the likeness of Christ. Thus, even painful experiences can ultimately lead to our growth and sanctification.
