How do we know God has begun a good work in us?

Answered in 1 source

We can be confident that God, who began a good work in us, will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus, as stated in Philippians 1:6.

Philippians 1:6 assures us that the good work initiated by God within a believer will be brought to completion. This is foundational to the doctrine of perseverance in the Reformed tradition, which highlights that true believers will not ultimately fall away because their salvation is secured by God's sovereign grace. Such work includes the regeneration of the believer, the growth in holiness, and the assurance of their eternal inheritance. This assurance is not based on our works but on God's faithfulness to His promises and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, which works within us to cultivate a desire for holiness and a love for God's Word.
