How do we know God hears our prayers in times of suffering?

Answered in 1 source

God hears our prayers because our cries for help are stirred by His Spirit within us.

When we experience affliction, it often leads us to introspectively consider our relationship with God. The assurance that God hears our prayers is rooted in our understanding of grace; as expressed in Romans 8:26, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, interceding for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. Thus, our inability to articulate our suffering does not hinder God's hearing. Instead, it is the Spirit's prompting that leads us to seek God, demonstrating that our cries are not mere desperation but a manifestation of faith. As God has made us aware of our need for Him, we can rest assured that He is attentive to our pleas for help.
